The Advocacy and Community Support Committee was established in 2010 to develop and carry out efforts to educate community members, elected officials, and education policymakers about the work of the Capital District Writing Project and to secure support among these groups for CDWP and the National Writing Project. This committee, which is currently coordinated by Agnes Zellin, a member of the CDWP Leadership Team, monitors important education policy developments and keeps CDWP members informed about issues and policy changes that affect the work of teachers in Capital Region schools.
CDWP members who are interested in becoming more actively involved in advocacy and community support and who want to learn more about education policy should contact CDWP at cdwp@albany.edu.
