Inservice Designed to Meet the Unique Needs of Your District
The Capital District Writing Project offers consulting and inservice programs for individual schools or school districts seeking to improve writing instruction and to enhance student learning across the curriculum. CDWP works with districts to design workshops or long-term inservice programs to meet the specific needs of the district’s students and teachers.
CDWP teacher-consultants are experienced, accomplished teachers who have successfully completed the CDWP Summer Institute and additional training. They can help teachers develop research-based, classroom-tested strategies for effective writing instruction and for using literacy to support content-area learning goals.
CDWP’s inservice programs are based on the National Writing Project model. Our programs help schools and districts create professional learning communities for sustained school improvement initiatives.
CDWP has developed and delivered inservice programs for Capital Region schools that address a variety of topics:
- Writing, learning, and literacy across the curriculum
- Developing and implementing a process-oriented writing program
- Developing authentic and formative writing assessments
- Motivating reluctant writers
We would welcome the opportunity to discuss how CDWP can design an inservice program for your district. Please contact Carol Forman-Pemberton at CarolCDWP@aol.com or by phone at 518-461-4656. Or email CDWP at cdwp@albany.edu.
